This section contains information pertinent to Probation Boards as employers.

There are three national negotiating bodies, two of which the Probation Association is party to: the National Negotiating Council for the Probation Service (NNC) and the Standing Committee for Probation Chief Officer Grades (SCCOG). Terms and conditions for Chief Officers themselves are dealt with through the National Negotiating Forum for Chief Officers.

The membership of the NNC is drawn from Probation Association, NOMS, Napo and UNISON. The Standing Committee membership is drawn from Probation Association, NOMS, GMB/SCOOP and Napo. Only NOMS and GMB/SCOOP are parties to the negotiations for Chief Officers.
